DIOR CRUISE 2015

ALEXANDRE VAUTHIER S/S 2014 COLLECTION

With his collections being barely three years on the runway he seems to have gathered much attention with his seemingly ‘overnight’ success. But truthfully Vauthier studied his craft and perfected his skills for many years before starting his own line.

Alexandre says: “I worked a lot and have even more work to do. But I love it! I am curious to learn, to propose, and above all be part of this piece of incredible human history”.

He started at Thierry Mugler's studio after graduation. Then spent eight years working as head designer of the Jean Paul Gaultier couture team.  Working alongside two of the most iconic French fashion designers gave him the necessary knowledge to start his own line. In 2009 he presented his first collection, full of astro-style shoulders and patent leather obi belts.

Vauthier proposes a strong shape statement and flawless architecture of clothing to enhance a woman's character. His creations are not for withering flowers or fashion addicted hipsters. “I design for different women, with different styles, backgrounds, and cultures but that have one thing in common: a strong personal style. All my clients are unique and have different characteristics”. Vauthier is fully committed to his idea of what enhances a woman's figure: “I try to give strength to soft silhouettes. Balance is key. A woman is made of all existing emotions. Strong or fragile, the clothes must accompany that”.

Despite the fact that his designs have been worn by celebrities such as Lady Gaga and Beyoncé, Vauthier is very humble about the exposure: “I am very happy because I love them.

They inspire me because of their strength, talent, workmanship, and energy. I am just delighted they like my work and clothes“.

The gold mini dress Beyoncé wore during her performance at Glastonbury was splashed all over the media, for it's glamorous appearance as well as exposure of the songstress famous body part.

Vauthier is optimistic about the future of his couture line and the industry as a whole. “We will always need extraordinary luxury and difference even in a global society.”

GET RID OF BELLY BLOAT

There are quite a few changes in your diet you can make to get rid of this problem.

Drink a glass or warm unsweetened lemonade

This is an ancient remedy for stomach bloating and constipation, a detox tip you can easily turn towards to make yourself feel good. Drinking a glass or warm water mixed with the juice of half a lemon, on an empty stomach in the morning, can not only help detoxify your body but also trigger bowel movement.

Avoid carbonated drinks

The last thing you want to do especially when you're feeling bloated is have carbonated drinks as they'll only cause your stomach to bulge even more. To avoid a bloated stomach drink teas or water as these are beneficial for your body, maintaining hydration and satiation.

Avoid salty products

Salt can make you feel bloated, so be sure to limit your sodium intake to avoid this problem. Most foods and drinks have written the amount of sodium they include on the package, so keep track of what you eat and make sure not to take in more that 1500 mg of sodium per day.

Savoir your food

One thing that can get you bloated in a jiffy is eating food in a hurry. The cramps that come with bringing create a high level of discomfort, so just take time to savor every bite of your food so you won't have to face this problem

Avoid carbs

Carbs are a bit more difficult to break down especially when you have them before bedtime. Plus, carbs also cause water retention which will make you feel bloated, so be sure to opt for healthier foods as they'll not only benefit your silhouette but also your heath.

Add probiotics to your diet

Probiotics are healthy bacteria that are similar to the ones found in the stomach. These bacteria are good for you as they aid digestion and get rid of gas. There are plenty of foods that pack natural probiotics so add yogurt, buttermilk to your diet and you'll soon feel better and leaner.

Increase your magnesium intake

Magnesium helps fight water retention and flatulence, thus is a great remedy for bloating. You can try adding magnesium rich foods to your diet, but you can also turn towards magnesium supplements to ensure your body is not lacking this essential mineral.
Foods rich in magnesium are leafy greens such as spinach, peas, fish, whole grains and nuts. You need about 200 mg of magnesium per day to keep bloating at bay.

Be more active

Physical activity is a must if you want to get rid of bloating. Stand up and walk around after you eat so that you help facilitate the passage of gas through your digestive tract.
