3D NAILS

 Nail design trends are truly on another level. Actually it's called "Nail Art" or "3D Nails". 

There are some pretty creative designs out there, and I'm both amazed and a tad bit turned off.

Some of it is way over the top, but some designs are really cute.

The three-dimensional designs are created using a relatively simple technique that requires a lot attention to details as well as artistic talent.

Basically the artist adds colored acrylic to a mold with the help of a paintbrush and waits for the design to harden.

After this process is complete the design is glued to the acrylic nails of the client.

The designs can vary greatly depending on the personal preferences of each woman.

WAYS TO STRAIGHT HAIR

Hairdressings & Silicone Creams.

This is a classic hair product based on oily materials like petrolatum, mineral oil, and lanolin. Silicone creams work the same way but contain materials like dimethicone or cyclomethicone. Apply the product all over your damp hair and comb straight. The oils coat your hairs preventing them from curling up when they dry.

Incredibly effective on all types of hair. Non-damaging and relatively inexpensive. The downside is that your hair will feel greasy, get dirtier faster, and can look weighed down. The effect will last until you wash out the product.

Brushing and blow drying.

As hair dries, it tends to curl up. This is a direct result of the water content and the chemical bonds existing in the hair fiber proteins. If you can hold your hair straight with a comb and blow dry it, it will hold that position. It’s a bit like using an iron to straighten the wrinkles in clothes.

This method is simple, moderately effective but depends heavily on the skill of the person doing it. It’s much easier for a stylist to do than for you to do it on your own hair. It is slightly damaging, will not work on extremely curly hair, and frizzes out in humid weather. It will leave your hair feeling more natural than hairdressings or styling products. So, if you don’t want to spend much money, get a good hair dryer and trying combing out those curls. It may take some time but it should work.

Flat Iron.

If you have really curly hair and the blow-drying + combing method doesn’t work, try using a flat iron. After washing your hair, you comb it and use a flat iron to get it dry and straight. It uses the same principle to get your hair straight but it is more intense and effective on nearly all hair types.

Flat irons will work with almost any hair type. If you know what you’re doing it can be done relatively quickly. Unfortunately, it is more damaging to your hair than a blow dryer and will frizz out when humidity is high. Once you’ve bought your flat iron it’s a relatively inexpensive way to get a straight hair style.

Styling products.

If you don’t like the greasy feeling of hairdressings and don’t want to take the time required for flat ironing, then styling product straightening might be for you. These products coat the hair with polymers that rigidly hold the hair straight. Things like hairsprays, gels, mousses, and putties can all be used.

Styling products are effective but require some skill in applying and shaping your hair. They will hold the hair straight better than the blow drying or flat iron methods. The effect will last only until the products are washed out. The primary downside is that your hair may not look and feel natural.

Brazilian Hair straightening.

This method is the hottest new hair styling treatment in salons. Your stylist applies a keratin protein formula and uses a flat iron to get your hair straight. Theoretically, the protein will crystallize on your hair and keep it in a straightened state. You are then encouraged not to wash your hair as frequently because you’ll reverse the effect.

If you wash your hair a few times the protein will come right off and your hair will return to it’s natural, curly state. There’s also the issue of a significant amount of Formaldehyde being included in the formula. It shouldn’t be a problem for you but I certainly wouldn’t want to be the stylist who gets exposed many times a day. This procedure works but you can get the same effect using a flat iron, styling products and less frequent hair washing.

Japanese straightening system.

This is a more permanent way to remove the curls from your hair. The stylist applies a special formula all over the hair.

 

Then they use a flat iron and neutralizing solution to get the hair straight. With proper care the effect should last for 6 months.

Relaxer.

If you want straight hair there is no more effective method than getting your hair relaxed. In this procedure a caustic chemical is applied to your hair and a chemical reaction occurs. The hair is then physically straightened and a neutralizing formula is used to reform the chemical bonds in the new straight shape. You can even do this to your own hair at home .

There’s no doubt about it that this method will permanently take the curls out of your hair.  It will also be more effective and cheaper than either the Brazilian or the Japanese systems.  However, it will also be the most damaging treatment you can do to your hair.  Your hair will break more easily and will feel dry.  Eventually, your curly hair will grow back so you’ll need to continue to relax hair if you want it straight.

THINGS TO KNOW BEFORE USING FACE CREAM AROUND YOUR EYES

Eye and face cream formulas can be pretty similar. Of course, this varies from brand to brand, but it’s certainly possible for a company to formulate and test a product that works perfectly well on your face and under your eyes. So while in principle there’s nothing with using face cream around your eyes, there are few issues you should be aware of:

Face and eye skin are different

Face creams are designed for the skin on your face, not the very thin skin under your eyes. So, they might be too greasy. That doesn’t mean they won’t work it just means they might not feel as nice.

Eye creams should be more thoroughly tested

Eye creams (at least ones from reputable companies) should be tested to see if they are harmful if you accidentally get some in your eye. Face creams may or may not be tested this way. Look at the Olay products and you’ll see that the eye cream is ophthalmologist tested and the face cream is not.

Face creams may contain more irritants

Face creams may contain fragrance or other ingredients that can be irritating when used close to your eyes. The Olay Regenerist is a good example because the face cream has fragrance while the eye cream does not.

The Beauty Brains Bottom Line

Depending on which brands you buy, you can use your facial moisturizer as an under eye cream. But you might be better off finding an inexpensive eye cream from a brand you trust.

FASHION DESIGNER ALEX PERRY LAUNCHES RESIDENTIAL PROJECT IN BRISBANE

Fashion designer Alex Perry is following in the footsteps of other international fashion designers with a partnership to develop a boutique residential project in Brisbane’s Fortitude Valley.

Local Brisbane developer Chrome Properties has secured the couturier’s design and marketing skills for an 11-storey residential tower at 959 Ann Street, across the road from Anthony John’s Emporium precinct.

The approved development will launch to market on May 26 with a cocktail party. Prices will begin at $375,000 for a one bedroom apartment and top out at $3,000,000 for a three bedroom.

Billed as Australia’s “most fashionable address”, Alex Perry Residential claims it will deliver a European-style, multi-purpose development to the rapidly growing lifestyle precinct.

It will feature a glittering marble and chandelier-filled lobby, rooftop Grecian inspired pool and a lounge area known as The Aqua lounge.

“My role as a couturier is to customise a garment to complement the features and personality of its wearer,” said Perry. “I have applied the same principles to Alex Perry Residential, incorporating my knowledge of proportion, scale, colour and texture to spaces instead of bodies.”

Designed in partnership with Cottee Parker Architects, the development will feature a total of 131 apartments, including 81 one-bedroom, 44 two-bedroom and 6 three-bedroom apartments, and come in a choice of “blonde” or “brunette” colour schemes.

According to the Development Application, 65 apartments will be dedicated to short-term or serviced accommodation. Chrome Properties have plans to roll out up to nine ‘Alex Perry Residential’ projects across Australia through to 2012.

WEDDING SUITS

The groom’s suit or tuxedo should vary slightly from his attendants’ so that he stands apart from them, but the rest of the group should be identically dressed. The formality of the wedding, the time of day or evening, the number of bridesmaids and the bride’s gown all play a role in determining the apparel of the groom and his groomsmen.

For an informal wedding, where the bride wears a short dress or suit, the groom and groomsmen may wear black, dark blue or dark gray business suits with white shirts and gray or gray and white stripy ties.

For a day summertime wedding, dark blazers worn with white or gray trousers are always appropriate. For a formal white-tie or black-tie evening wedding, the grooms suits should be full dress or tails, including black tailcoat with white pique’ waistcoats and bow tie, white shirt with a wing collar, studs and cuff links.

Top hats and white gloves may also be worn as part of the grooms wedding attire. Shoes should be plain, undecorated and black, and worn with black dress socks. They should be un-scuffed and polished.

Black patent leather place ar worn for a black-tie or white-tie evening wedding.

TYPE OF LACE WIGS

Lace wigs fall into 3 general categories: Front Lace Wigs, Full Lace Wigs, and Whole Lace Wigs.

Front Lace Wigs have lace at the forehead extending from ear to ear. Therefore Front Lace wigs cannot be pulled in a high pony tail unlike Full Lace Wigs. Lace front wigs for black women will give you a natural hairline in the front. This means the hair can be parted anywhere throughout the front of the unit. This cap style only has to be glued down or taped in the front and is ideal for women that never want to wear their hair in up-dos or high ponytails or have hair thinning or other medical conditions.

The construction of the crown is made of tracks just like a regular wig. It is usually accompanied with two combs on the front and one on the back. Two adjustable straps with hooks on the back ensure a secure fit. Lace Front is by far the most popular of lace wigs.

Full Lace Wigs by some manufacturers come with lace on the front (ear to ear) and on the back which allows them to be put in a high ponytail. There is no lace on the crown. Some full lace wigs are custom made, and have lace all over which does not allow them to be one size fits all.

Whole Lace Wigs offer parting anywhere. The lace is all over. Usually the lace on the front and back is Swiss or French and the lace on the crown is mesh lace. The construction of these wigs is very lightweight, stretchable. They are usually handmade which means the strands of hair are manually tied to the lace. The mesh lace allows for the hair to be parted any where, is breathable and light weight. These wigs still have combs and adjustable straps with hooks for secure fit. AMBER ROSE ENGAGED TO MARRY WIZ KHALIF!

Amber Rose's new man, Wiz Khalifa has already proposed to the model. She said yes and they are planning to marry this summer.

"They actually really, really dig each other. Amber is a sweetheart, and my mom, everybody who meets her loves her anyway", Wiz said about Amber who met his mother. "She's a great girl, she's like one of the best girls in the world. I just want everybody to know how great she is", he added.

"Wiz is going on tour for the next month. But he told her when he gets back, he's going to marry her. And he was serious he asked her to start making plans", one source close to the couple said.
