Bongolicious entrance into the fashion world originates from Dar es Salaam, Tanzania in an area of East Africa known locally as ‘Bongo’.  From early beginnings associated with the Miss Tanzania Beauty Pageant, company Founder and Creative Director Mange Kimambi worked to find, promote and help mold young women into pageant-ready contestants. 

 Forged in that work came an appreciation for keeping fashion practical to wear while maintaining a bold and empowering style to stand out from others.  Bongolicious draw on this ethos for our independent fashion selections and own unique designs.  The name Bongolicious is a nod to these early beginnings that have shaped our perspective on women’s fashion.
